How to make wings in MU Online: levels 1, 2 and 3 in the Chaos Machine

Wings are the most coveted item in MU, and all of them come from the Chaos Machine. This guide has the recipes verified on the OpenMU server: which items to place, how much it costs and what happens if it fails.

Before you start

• The Chaos Machine is with the Chaos Goblin, in Noria. Talk to him, choose the mix and place the items in the window.
• The success rate shows in the window itself before you mix. It depends on the value of the items you place: more valuable, higher-level items raise the chance.
• Jewels (Chaos, Bless and Soul) can be bought with in-game Zen in the site shop, up to 5 of each per day.
• Wings come out drawn at random among the mix's possibilities (see below). You cannot choose which one.

Step 0: Chaos Weapon (optional)

To make the 1st wing you need a chaos weapon. To create one, choose the Chaos Weapon mix:

The result is one of these weapons, from +0 to +4: Chaos Dragon Axe, Chaos Lightning Staff or Chaos Nature Bow. The cost is 10,000 zen per 1% success rate. If it fails, the +4 or higher item randomly loses level and may lose its skill and option.

1st class: choose "1st Level Wings"

Result (drawn at random): Wings of Elf, Wings of Heaven, Wings of Satan or Wings of Curse. The cost is 10,000 zen per 1% rate.

If it fails, the chaos weapon drops in level and the wing is not created.

2nd class: choose "2nd Level Wings"

Result (drawn at random): Wings of Spirits, Wings of Soul, Wings of Dragon, Wings of Darkness or Wings of Despair. The cost is 5,000,000 zen, with a maximum rate of 90%. There is a chance the wing comes out with an additional option and Luck.

The Loch's Feather drops from level 82 or higher monsters in Icarus, with a 0.1% chance per drop. If the mix fails, the items you placed are lost.

Lord and Fighter capes (Dark Lord and Rage Fighter)

For these two classes, the mix is "Cape of Lord/Fighter", with the same items as the 2nd class, but instead of Loch's Feather you use the Crest of Monarch (the level 1 item of the same group as Loch's Feather). The cost is 5,000,000 zen, maximum rate 90%, and the result is the Cape of Lord or the Cape of Fighter.

3rd class: two stages

Stage 1: "3rd Level Wings, Stage 1"

Result: Feather of Condor. The rate starts at 1% and rises with item value, up to 60%. The cost is 200,000 zen per 1%. If it fails, items of +7 or higher drop 2 or 3 levels and lose their option.

Stage 2: "3rd Level Wings, Stage 2"

Result (drawn at random): Wings of Storm, Wings of Eternal, Wings of Illusion, Wings of Ruin, Wings of Dimension, Cape of Emperor or Cape of Overrule. The rate starts at 1% and reaches a maximum of 40%. The cost is 200,000 zen per 1%. There is a chance of an additional option and an excellent wing option.

The Flame of Condor drops on the Barracks of Balgass map.

Tips

1. Gather jewels first: the mixes use Chaos, Bless, Soul, Creation and Life in quantity. See the list in the shop.
2. Check the rate shown by the Chaos Machine and only mix when it is good.
