Balance lab
The server numbers, open to everyone: population of each class, damage measured every day with the game's own calculation, the skills players actually use and every adjustment we make, with before and after.
Balance board
We compare each character with those at the SAME point of the game (same reset and level bracket: 150-249, 250-349, 350+). Each group's yardstick is the median of the classes, every class weighing the same. 100% = equal to the yardstick. "In the spot" is how you level; "single hit" is bosses and single targets.

My character
Type the character name: we show its damage against the average of everyone in the same reset bracket, against its own class, and what can be improved.
The whole class is below average in this bracket: it is not just you. The fix is on our side and under review.

Damage measurement
Every developed character is measured with the server's own damage calculation, with the stats, gear and skills it has. "In the spot" = damage of ONE use of the skill set in its Helper, with 12 monsters around (how many it hits and how many times, by the game rules). "Single hit" = the highest damage per hit on one target.

Real tests
Hit the Training Dummy in the combat square in Lorencia (center of the map) with your skills. When you stop hitting, the result of each skill shows in chat and is recorded here, so classes, builds and balance changes can be compared over time. Only skills with 5 or more hits are recorded. Tests are kept for 90 days.

Damage per second = total damage ÷ time between the first and last hit of the skill. Everyone hits the same target (same defense), so the numbers are comparable.

Transparency
Every hour we copy each character's stats, gear (options, level, excellent options, sets), skills and MU Helper setup from the game database and run the server's own damage calculation: the same code that decides the number you see on screen. Once a day, before dawn, everyone is measured again.
Each attack skill is tested 3,000 times against six reference monsters, counting misses, excellent and critical hits. "In the spot": 12 monsters around the character in a 13×13 tile square; we count how many hits each skill delivers per use (range, cone, target area, extra hits by distance, Dark Side's 8 targets × 2...) and multiply by the per-hit damage of the skill the player keeps in the Helper.
The comparison is always with those at the same point: same reset and level bracket. The yardstick is the median of the classes, every class weighing the same; just-reset characters (below 150) and support elves (Energy as the highest stat) are left out.
Not included yet: attack speed (uses per second), pets, party buffs and PvP. With monsters standing still and spread out, short-range skills come out a bit below what they do when monsters come to you.
